Dakar–Timbuktu, a very special rally !

It’s not a car which is revving up and covered in red dust which fascinates us at the moment, but indeed the fate of our container which will soon touch ground in Africa, in Dakar, the capital of Senegal. Its arrival is planned for 30th April.

After its disembarkment, it will be taken charge of by a lorry which will undertake the long journey from Dakar to Timbuktu. Desert and badly maintained roads are on the agenda for a dangerous journey. Even an experienced transporter risks encountering difficulties on journeys where a surprise is not really one – as long as it’s expected!

So, let’s keep our fingers crossed so that our precious load succeeds in avoiding traps and the dangers which threaten it. Following the example of the Paris-Dakar rally cars which attempted to connect one point to another without too many material damages, the lorry transporting our container will need to arrive in Timbuktu with everything it contains in order to fulfil our mission.

We’ll keep you posted !
